The average American whole house creates organic trash of 650 lbs. annually and most of it is landfill. In fact, recently I was reading up on this and it said that 60% of the landfills contain organic matter. So, if you’re wondering that it should turn into a compost bin because all these matters are tossed into a large hole however, that’s not the case because these materials are not aerated. It ends up into anaerobic decomposition, it is oxygen-deprived, a place harboring disease-causing bacteria’s that in turn release plenty methane into our atmosphere.

For those of you that are not aware methane is even powerful than CO2 bio was 72%. This means that it has a major hand in all the climatic issues. In these landfills inorganic and organic materials are dumped together that include food scraps, plastic, trash bags creating an atmosphere to preserve. So, things like newspaper, hot dogs, guacamole are in excellent condition right from the early 50s!
