Soil and seeds play a very important role in making any garden bloom. Any garden bed with good growing soil can accommodate a seed and grow a plant thereby. Gardeners may sow seeds themselves or use plants instead which are easily available with botanists or plant enthusiasts. The main motive behind gardening should be to grow plants & acquire seeds from them.

Planting TechniqueAnother important aspect in any garden is its topsoil, which can be classified on basis of its quality. Every gardener should seek best quality soil as it has better efficiency. Thanalan soil, Shroud soil and La Noscean soil are the three types of soil available. Thanalan soil helps increase crossbreeding hence it’s most useful. Shroud soil increases the yield, harvest and seeds of most plants. La Noscean soil helps obtain better quality produce. Each of these soils can be obtained in 3 different grades viz: grade1, grade2 and grade 3 from different sources at specific times. Grade 3 of all types of soil can be obtained from any mine.

Every garden needs attention, lack of attention and care will surely lead to loss of plants. Unattended plants will fade and ultimately die, some plants need a daily touch while some don’t. Once plants are mature enough to be harvested they wont grow further then the gardener may choose to let them stay or harvest the produce. Fertilising plants is equally important as its provides the much required nutrition & support. Fertilisers boost immunity and growth however the use of fertilisers should be specific as it may also have some unwanted effects.

Lately there had been many short inventions in gardening, the most interesting among them is crossbreeding. It involves planting two different seeds together or besides which then grows in a plant and gives altogether a new type of seed which is different from the actual ones. Royal fern, Glazenut, Blood Pepper etc. are few examples of crossbreed produce. Crossbreeding is a phased and accurate method hence it is to be followed in a proper and specified manner. Back to eden bedCrossbred seeds can further be co-planted with itself to obtain a new seeds or produce.

Crossbreeding should be contained to a specific area or patch which will make it easier to control and inspect. Most commonly a garden patch with 8 beds should be used to cross breed 4 of each seed in pairs. The moment we plant a seed it crossbreeds hence the crossbreeding will take place only when the 2nd seed is planted besides the 1st. As stated earlier that crossbreeding is a specific procedure we can obtain a crossbred by planting seeds in 4×4 cross manner which is the most common practice.

Each plant has unique growing time and harvests accordingly which can be used to co-plant and ultimately crossbreed, this practice will ensure continuous yield of both plants. Once the plant grows and is harvested, the garden patch or bed may be left empty for few days before planting or crossbreeding other new seeds. The garden bed may not be cleared if same seeds or plants are to be sowed as it will help in increasing the yield. This is basic crossbreeding in which a cycle of harvesting and replanting may be developed by understanding the days required & preferred choice of produce.

Cross breeding plantsCrossbreeding can be practiced in an advanced manner which is commonly known as the 5×3 manner. The availability and cost of seeds may lead to change of planting patterns which ultimately results in new results which are cost effective. Here the crossbreeding takes place within live seeds, its amazing to see that the seed grows with the next live seed ignoring any dead seed in between. Another crossbreeding setup wont be as cost effective as the motive here is increase the yield of the expensive plant with less failures. The shorter period a plant takes to grow can be utilized to increase the number of harvests & get better production.
