Here we would share some tips and hacks which you can use to start your garden and grow easy. These hacks are cheap, useful and will surely save your time and efforts while gardening.

Eggshell plantsEggshells: eggshells are a common kitchen waste which goes down our dustbins reaping no good. We already know that eggshells are rich in calcium and are completely biodegradable. They decompose naturally after few days adding the most required calcium to the soil hence they can be used for growing seedlings which can be directly planted into the soil. After eating the egg from inside its shell can be pricked at the bottom which will be the drain hole. Before using the egg shells for sowing seeds you should sterilize them by boiling for a minute, then after its dry fill it with soil, compost or seed starter mix. Sow the seeds in it, keep them in a dry but sunny area and continue to water normally. Once the seedlings appear just crush the shell gently and plant it directly in the soil. The plant will continue to grow and the egg shell will decompose automatically providing nutrients to the soil.

Kitchen scrapsKitchen scraps: Collect all kitchen scraps and wastes including fruit skin, egg shells, tea bags, vegetable scraps etc. add some water to it and blend it thoroughly. You should get a grainy mixture, again dilute it with more water and feed the plants fresh. These all kitchen scraps and waste is nutrient rich, organic and a great supplement for plants.
  



Garden tools:
In gardens we frequently use tools for planting, trimming, tilling, spreading etc. these tools may wear with days if not cleaned and maintained properly. Take a pot or a container or a side of the garden bed, fill it with a mixture of vegetable oil and sand just plunge your tools in that mixed soil whenever Tools keepingthey are not in use. This way the tools will remain clean and prevent from rusting.

Soda bottles: Soda or packed water bottles make most of our waste, most of them are thrown away as they cant be recycled. We can cut the base of these bottles, open the cap and cover our seedlings during harsh weather conditions. The open cap will ensure the passage of air and the new plant will be protected from wind and external damage.

Weeding: An organic weedkiller is a useful thing to get rid of weeds outside our planting area, this helps keep the garden tidy and get rid of unwanted plants which may be difficult to get rid off later. An organic weedkiller can be prepared by using half litre vinegar, a teaspoon lemon juice and two tablespoons of salt. Shake well and spray directly on the weeds, they will die sooner than you realize. The weedkiller being organic wont cause any unusual damage to the ecosystem or other necessary plants.
